Noise of machines. Engineering methods for measurement of noise of compressors and vacuum pumps
Status: Effective
The standard establishes methods for measuring the sound radiation of mobile and stationary compressors and vacuum pumps and stating the values of their noise characteristics. The standard establishes the requirements for installation, load and mode of operation of machines during testing and the following noise characteristics: sound power level at a given mode of operation; sound pressure level of radiation in the workplace at a given mode of operation. The standard applies to the following machines: gas compressors (for various gases); oil lubricated air compressors; oil filled air compressors; water filled air compressors; oil free air compressors; gas compressors for hazardous gases; oxygen compressors; acetylene compressors; high pressure compressors (over 4MPa (40 bar); compressors for low suction temperatures (below 0 degrees C); large compressors (power consumption is more than 1000 kW); mobile air compressors and air compressors on skids; rotary blowers, centrifugal fans exhaust fans for pressure <= 0.2 MPa (<= 2 bar). The standard does not apply to: gas compressors (except acetylene) with a maximum permissible operating pressure less than 0.05 MPa (0.5 bar); refrigeration compressors of cooling systems or heat pumps portable portable compressors
